About Stresyx

Stresyx is a resource that is designed to help you understand your stress with a focus on empowering you to create your own solutions to your problems. Instead of dumbing down scientific information and omitting the details, Stresyx uses the interactive medium to reformat the information such that it's easily learnable.

One of the largest causes of stress is the notion of “status”, which is often used as a means by others to shame you or make you feel insecure. If you feel like you are falling behind or are stuck in life, you must ask yourself what the meaning of being behind and being stuck are. Just because someone else appears to be ahead in life, it doesn’t mean they aren’t just as stressed, if not more stressed, as you are.

Stress itself is very complex, and it always affects you no matter your situation. However, there are times where it can be a positive force, and you can still do great things even if you’re stressed out. In other words, stress shouldn’t stop you from making your definition of progress.

We welcome you on this journey with us, and look forward to building something great.

Many people in my family grew up in adverse conditions. I’ve seen firsthand how chronic stress can deeply impact emotions, decisions, and long-term health. I’ve watched stress pull people into dark patterns of thinking, reinforce self-destructive behaviors, and quietly compound into lifelong conditions. My work is driven by a desire to help people facing similar adversity build resilience and better regulate the effects of stress before it grows too big to manage.

I have experience developing mobile applications at both small startups and large companies, and I’m deeply interested in the intersection of art, technology, and self-understanding. I believe thoughtfully designed, human-centered tools can help people build healthier relationships with their minds, their habits, and each other.

I’ve lived with stress my entire life and, for a very long time, accepted it as an unavoidable part of life. That mindset shifted during graduate school, when the intensity made it clear that change was necessary, especially seeing others struggle in the same way I did. Rather than simply adapting to stress and letting it control me, I decided that change was necessary.

Drawing on my professional experience in leadership, I partnered up with a team to create something designed to support people who struggle with stress the way I do. Outside of trying to create something meaningful for people, I enjoy staying active and unplugging whenever I can, whether it’s hiking in the mountains, playing a friendly game of basketball at the local park, watching football with friends and family, or relaxing on a beach somewhere nice.

One of my biggest causes of stress are close ones shaming me for supposedly “wasting my potential”, yet I love creating systems to improve one’s ability to think. Hence, my vision for Stresyx is to popularize the realization that “status” itself is merely an invention, and that it often brings stress over happiness. I’m bringing together programming experience in small startups and open source in addition to design, and imagination together into the “systems design” of this vision.

I’m heavily inspired by the pioneers of personal computing, especially Alan Kay, and contemporary interaction designers like Bret Victor. In my free time, I write a lot about their ideas, and my perspectives on computing as a medium rather than an automation tool. I also enjoy physical activity as well, and commonly do Zone 5 cardio.

To me, stress is a choice that we can choose to grow similar to adding fuel to an open flame. Through my experience as a tutor and software developer, I have navigated environments engaging with people from all walks of life.

From that experience, a consistent pattern emerged: the most effective way to manage stress is through intentional self exploration. To illustrate, I will use a favorite hobby of mine: working out at the gym. The gym is an environment where people are striving to achieve a goal. The path to success isn’t always linear; it’s paved with trial, error, and constant routine adjustments. My vision for this product is to facilitate that same spirit of exploration. To help turn daily stressors into a foundation for personal growth.

After graduating from my university, I’ve had to juggle a lot of things in my life. Chronic stress has always been in my life, and there were moments when the noise became overwhelming; those experiences are what ultimately led me to want to work on Stresyx.

I’m a frontend software engineer with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, from UCSC! I spend my spare time photo editing, reading, and creative writing, which help me manage stress and stay creatively balanced.

My vision for Stresyx and our company is to build a product that enables people to understand themselves more deeply. This understanding breeds thinking, and this thinking is what I hope will make it possible for us to win more of our mental battles.
